Who we are
Look By M began as a boutique manufacturer of fine women’s neckwear. We started with a simple yet timeless philosophy of producing affordable merchandise without sacrificing quality . For every season there is a theme whether it be color, mood or pattern that is why each and every season our designers collaborate to present a collection that reflects our love of bold colors, fresh vibrant prints and quality fabrics. With each new line of scarves, socks and legwear, Look by M applies the same values upon which our company was founded…quality and integrity. In a world that is dynamic, one thing will never change, our values.
Michelle Kim came to the United States in 1997 to study fashion. She enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Technology where she majored in Production management. She worked tirelessly to put herself through college by taking night classes and working in the garment district during the day. After graduating in 2002 she worked for several years in the wholesale district in NYC where she gained tremendous experience in production management. She has always had a love affair with accessories and a passion for taking a blank slate and creating something vibrant and new. So, on a colorful Spring day in 2010 Look By M was born.
Our philosophy is simple. Make the world a more beautiful place. And what better way to do that than with thoughtfully designed accessories? Our products are for those who appreciate the craft behind them and wear them with conviction. We put thought and passion into our designs so that you can wear them with ease and confidence.
As a business we produce products which , in some small way, add beauty to the world. But there is a much bigger picture and a more significant impact we wish to achieve. That is why we are developing a comprehensive donations program to help those in need. Currently, we donate merchandise every season to various hospitals such as Columbia Presbyterian and several local churches. But we want to do more, and we want you to be a part of that journey . Please share with us any thoughts or ideas you may have to help us turn this plan into a movement.
